Chesterfield have made an official approach for Gloucester City manager James Rowe, according to reports.

The 36-year-old has guided the unbeaten Tigers to the top of National League North this season with seven wins and two draws, scoring 26 goals along the way.

The former West Ham United, Birmingham City and Aldershot coach has been in charge at Gloucester for almost a year.

According to Gloucestershire Live, the Spireites have made an approach for him as they search to replace John Pemberton who left by mutual consent last week.
