Paul Cook is expecting Bromley to provide Chesterfield with ‘as tough a test’ as they will have all season.

The fifth-placed Ravens will go above the Spireites in fourth with a victory at the Technique Stadium on Saturday.

Andy Woodman’s men have climbed the table in recent weeks after going five unbeaten in the league but will be aiming to bounce back after their FA Cup defeat to Hereford.

Town will be hoping to get back on track in the league after three successive defeats, including losing the last two at home.

After Bromley, Chesterfield face two more teams near the top of the table in York City (7th) and Boreham Wood (3rd).

Cook said: “We have got a really good week coming up, Bromley being the start of it, and it is as tough a test as we will have this season, in my opinion.

“The league has got some very strong teams in it and Bromley are one of them without a shadow of a doubt.

“They are a well-coached, well-disciplined team with good players in the correct slots, they defend the box well and they get men in the box at the other end to score goals.

“Andy has done a great job there, winning at Wembley (in the FA Trophy) was a great achievement for the club and they will have their sights set on the top echelons of the league.”

Cook said they will ‘respect’ the threats that Bromley pose, just like they do every other team.

“Their last away win was 2-0 at Boreham Wood so it just shows what they can do,” Cook added.

“They are experienced, they have got an identity and a clear style of play.

“No matter what the styles are, I think you will see two teams trying to win the game, whether that is in the same manner or not is irrelevant."
