Town centre has plenty of positive points which can be developed

Regarding the negative comments about Chesterfield in recent letters in the Derbyshire Times, I would like to make more positive points.

Coaches come expecting to see a substantial market. I agree it is not what it used to be, and all the stalls from the surrounding area need to be concentrated in the centre, with ample seating places and flower beds to enhance the ambience.

The flea market should be more widely advertised, as should the artisan market.

Publish a list of all the shops in the town to show how fortunate we are in the range.

With the growth in restaurants, coffee shops, and hotels, develop the town centre as an attraction in itself for not only shopping, but socialising.
