Delays are expected on the M1 through Derbyshire this afternoon after a crash.

Highways England is reporting the road traffic collision has taken place on the M1 northbound between junctions 28 for Mansfield and 29 for Chesterfield.

A spokesperson said: “There are long delays on the M1 northbound between J28 Mansfield and J29 Chesterfield due to a collision which has closed two of four lanes.

"There is currently five miles of congestion on approach which is adding about an hour to normal journey times.”
