'Truly inspiring' Chesterfield nursery leader wins top award

A dedicated nursery leader in Chesterfield is celebrating after being recognised at a national awards ceremony.

Stacey Williamson, centre director at Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough in Ash Close, was crowned ‘Centre Director of the Year’ at the Busy Bees Awards.

The Busy Bees Awards celebrates outstanding individual and team achievements at more than 370 Busy Bees nurseries in Europe.

This year, the awards were hosted virtually, with teams across the UK, Ireland, Jersey and Italy joining together remotely to watch the ceremony online.

Known for her commitment to giving children the best start in life, Stacey has supported not only her own team, but also others in the region, to develop and share their skills to encourage best practice.

Always putting children and their families first, Stacey has been praised for her encouraging and selfless nature, which has strengthened relationships across her team.

Stacey said: “I’m delighted to have won centre director of the year. I love the work we do at Busy Bees, and it’s an amazing feeling to have everyone’s hard work recognised nationally."

Since joining the region in 2017, Stacey has welcomed a tremendous amount of families through the doors of Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough, and is often singled out by parents for her kind and caring disposition.

She said: “The last few months certainly haven’t been easy, but it’s wonderful to receive this national acknowledgment.

"I’d like to say a big thank you to the team for trusting in my leadership and continuing to work incredibly hard each day to give the children of Chesterfield the best start in life.”
