Three arrested after increase in burglaries in Chesterfield

Three people have been arrested following an increase in burglaries in Chesterfield.

Officers have arrested a 40-year-old man, from Chesterfield, a 24-year-old man, from Sheffield, and a 16-year-old girl, from Chesterfield, on suspicion of what they describe as a ‘large number’ of dwelling burglaries and attempted dwelling burglaries.

They remain in custody and are being questioned by detectives.

A Derbyshire Constabury spokesperson said: “Officers have been working hard the past few weeks in identifying and collecting CCTV evidence in relation to an increase of dwelling burglaries in the Newbold, Brimington and Whittington areas of Chesterfield.”
