Following the incident, a woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and subsequently released under investigation.

On Wednesday, a Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “She is still released under investigation.”

This means she remains subject to enquiries but does not have a date at which she must attend a police station and is not subject to restrictions about what she can do while the investigation continues.

Police previously said the incident involved a car which did not stop.

Many tributes were paid to Ross after the tragedy.
