Spire Funeral Services’ home on Church Street formally opened its doors at the end of last month.

Paul Wilson, funeral director, said: “Although our Staveley funeral home has been fully operational for the last year, we thought it best to delay our official opening and dedication until coronavirus restrictions were lifted.

“We now look forward to continuing to support the local community.”

Following the unveiling of a plaque by the Mayor of Chesterfield, Councillor Glenys Falconer, the chapels of rest were dedicated by Father Stephen Jones, Rector of Staveley and Barrow Hill, assisted by other ministers from the area.

Throughout the afternoon, the funeral home welcomed friends old and new for refreshments and an opportunity to see the new building.
