Meet some of the babies born at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on New Year’s Day
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Proud parents have told of their happiness after their newborns arrived right at the start of 2021.
Harley Leuty, 28, and Des Houghton, 42, of Bradwell, said hello to their son Abel Sebastian Houghton at 3.09am.


He weighed 6lb 6oz.
Harley said: “We’re so, so proud – he’s lovely.
“He’s a good little boy and very content.
“I can’t stop looking at him.


“What a wonderful way to start the new year.”
Archie Paul Davies was born at 3.48am, weighing 6lb 12oz.

Hide AdHis parents, 32-year-old Alison Morley and 29-year-old Ricky Davies, couldn’t be happier.
Alison said: “He’s absolutely amazing – just beautiful.


“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the birth centre – they were brilliant from start to finish.”
At 5.53am, Aoife Wren Walton arrived.
Weighing 7lb exactly, she was born to parents Becky Smith, 35, and Stephen Walton, 32.
Becky said: “She was the first girl to be born at the hospital’s birth centre in 2021.

“We’re both overjoyed and so very proud – she’s amazing and beautiful.
“Things are very tough at the moment because of coronavirus and lockdown but Aoife is a ray of sunlight.”
A spokesperson for Chesterfied Royal Hospital’s birth centre said a total of 10 babies were born there on New Year’s Day.
