Matlock antiques group raise £2,000 for charity at anniversary meeting
The event was a complete sell out ,with over 150 attending.
Members of the Matlock Antiques and Collectables Society marked their 60th year anniversary with a special event held at the town’s Imperial Rooms .
The meeting, which included a flower demonstration by local florist Robert Young , raised £2,000 in aid of Alzheimer’s Research.
The event was a complete sell out ,with over 150 attending. On the afternoon itself, £1,947 was raised - but there has since been an anonymous donation of £53 which brings the total sum raised to £2,000.
The society isssued sincere thanks to all who gave so generously. There is a very warm welcome to come along to their meetings, held at the Imperial Rooms in Matlock on the second Friday of the month at 2.30pm, when they group hosts a speaker on a wide range of antique subjects.
