A Chesterfield schoolgirl who believes ‘everyone deserves to have a home’ is fundraising for a charity which helps those without a roof over their heads.

Eva-Mae Lomas will skip non-stop for 30 minutes every day for a week from Monday to raise money for Pathways of Chesterfield.

Her mum Becky, of Old Whittington, said: “Eva-Mae is only six but she has so much empathy and concern for others.

“She wanted to do something to raise money for a local homeless charity – in her words, ‘everyone deserves to have a home’.

“After looking for local homeless charities, Eva-Mae chose Pathways.

“We’re all so proud of her – she’s such a selfless little girl.

“So far she’s raised over £1,500 which is absolutely extraordinary – and she hasn’t even started the challenge yet!

“Every penny means an awful lot to Pathways – and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who has donated.”
