Could you find room in your heart to give a loving forever home to a rescued dog or cat currently being cared for at Chesterfield’s RSPCA centre?
Two German Shepherds who have bonded over their miserable past, a three-legged Rottweiler cross and a cat who was brought in with an open sore on his tummy that made him walk bow-legged are among the furry residents being looked after the charity’s Spital Lane base.
Matty is a 12-year-old terrier cross who was brought into the centre as a stray. He's a sweet and affectionate boy, although shows anxiety in unfamiliar situations. Matty would prefer to be the only animal in the house. Photo: Chesterfield and North Derbyshire RSPCA
Saturn is a five-year-old male greyhound who will need a loving home to make up for a past of suffering and misery before he was brought into the rescue centre. He is gentle, tender, attentive and adoring. Saturn, who will need someone with him most of the time, is looking for a quiet home with a dog of a similar size but would prefer not to share it with a cat. Pudding is a five-year-old short-haired male who is shy but always eager for affection. When he arrived at the rescue centre his whole belly was an open sore, festering and red, which his carers believe had been caused by him lying on some highly corrosive substance or surface, and he walked bow-legged because of the pain. Treatment, including having his belly smothered in cream, is helping to heal the sore and each day it is looking better and reducing in size. Pudding would need a quiet home in an adult-only household. Photo: Chesterfield and North Derbyshire RSPCA
Fawkes is a one-year-old male who loves nothing more than snuggling and cuddling. He is described as "phenomenal" by his carers at Chesterfield RSPCA centre. Photo: Chesterfield and North Derbyshire RSPCA
