They have been constructed on the site of the former Chesterfield FC social club – so the firm decided to call the scheme Moss Court to recognise the links with the Spireites and one of their most treasured players.

“I just wish dad could see it and be aware of how highly thought of and respected he is.
“He is forever our hero and we are so proud.”
Seventy-one-year-old Ernie – who is Chesterfield FC's record goalscorer with 191 goals over three spells at the club – suffers from a rare form of dementia called Pick’s Disease and now lives in a care home.
A gate which commememorates the history of Saltergate has also been unveiled this week as part of Moss Court.

Rockie White, director of A-Rock Construction, said: “This project has been a great experience to be part of.
“We have enjoyed the process, from understanding more about the history of Saltergate through to the manufacture and installation of a piece of art that can be enjoyed by residents.
“We are delighted with the gate and feel it gives Moss Court a unique piece of artwork that finishes off the development perfectly.”

“The beautiful gate celebrates this historic trade route which gave the name to one of Chesterfield’s best-known roads,” a company spokesperson said.
Moss Court has been designed with the over-50s in mind.
The one and two bedroom apartments are available for rent from next month.
