Because of the current Covid-19 regulations, only a handful of Jack’s close family and friends will be able to attend.

His daughter Jayne Goodwin said: “It breaks my heart that my dad can’t have the funeral he wished for and paid for.

“He wanted my eldest brother Michael to do his eulogy, which in normal circumstances would have been quite lengthy due to the full and adventurous life he led.

“This is cut to two minutes due to the short time we are allowed for the service because of coronavirus regulations.

“The service will be 15 minutes in total.

“We can only have two songs.

“One of them will be Wild Rover on entrance – my dad loved this song and it could have been the one he sang for his challenge for his 108th birthday if he hadn’t been ill.

“The other song will be I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen at the end of the service.

“Kathleen was my mum, dad’s devoted wife, and this song was very dear to him.

“When lockdown is over, I’ll ensure my dad gets the memorial service he wanted and deserves – and a get-together to celebrate his amazing life.”

Jayne added that people could consider lining the hill near the crematorium – while obeying social distancing rules – as the funeral procession arrives at the crematorium at around 1.45pm.

She added: “Dad loved blue and I’d like that to be the theme, even it’s a scarf or a handkerchief.

“I think I’m going to get some blue balloons to let off.”

Jack – dubbed ‘Britain’s oldest daredevil’ – made headlines across the globe and captured millions of hearts for achieving four Guinness World Records after his 100th birthday, raising thousands of pounds for many good causes.

He had been ill since a fall in December.
