Members of Hasland Community Football Club’s under-11 and under-16 teams completed a litter pick in Hasland’s Eastwood Park on Saturday.
Jack Grasby, an under-11 coach and committee member at the club, said: “Eastwood Park isn’t just at the heart of the Hasland community, it’s at the heart of our club. Our teams have regularly trained there for over 10 years.

“We were saddened to hear the reports of anti-social behaviour in the park over recent weeks, and wanted to do our bit to show that it is still a great place to be.
“We also wanted to show our commitment to maintaining the park and to the Hasland community in general.
“We ended up collecting more litter than we initially expected, but it’s a great feeling to know that we’ve done our bit to make the park that bit cleaner - and the kids seemed to enjoy it.
“Full credit to all of the players and parents who took part – and also to Ashley Meredith from the club’s committee who organised the pick. Together they made a fantastic team,” added Hasland community stalwart Jack.

A Chesterfield Borough Council spokesperson said: “We work closely with the police and others to try and identify individuals causing anti-social behaviour across the borough.
“We encourage anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour to report this to the police by either using the website or calling them.”
