The resident, who does not want to be identified, contacted the Derbyshire Times to complain about young yobs in Eastwood Park in Hasland.
He said: "The behaviour of a small amount of kids in the park is disgusting.
“We now have graffiti on the skate park and I myself have witnessed numerous anti-social incidents, including fencing – which was meant to be protecting new grass – being thrown around, wood, glass and plastic being smashed and thrown around, and shopping trolleys being thrown around.
“I know of people who have been abused and swore at by kids when they have been challenged.
“Do the parents not care what their feral children get up to once they leave their homes?
“Also, why is there CCTV in the park, seeing as it seems to be ineffective and pointless?
“If this CCTV is operational then surely someone must be monitoring it? If so, why isn’t something being done about the anti-social behaviour?”
In response, a spokesperson for Chesterfield Borough Council said: “We are aware of graffiti around the skate park – our team will clean this area in the coming weeks.
“Through our Community Safety Partnership we work closely with the police and others to try and identify individuals causing anti-social behaviour across the borough.
“We encourage anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour to report this to the police by either using the website or calling them.
“Please ensure you include details of where and when the incident occurred to help support any investigation.”
