Chesterfield town centre pub applies for pavement drinking licence

A Chesterfield town centre pub has applied for a pavement licence to serve alcohol and food at the front of the venue.

Wetherspoon’s pub the Portland Hotel, on West Bars, has asked Chesterfield Borough Council for permission to install a seating area on a pathway leading to the front of the premises.

Documents say the seating area will feature 12 tables and 40 chairs, and it will be in use from 9am-11pm every day.

A consultation period will now be held by the council.
