Danny Burton’s track, Merry Christmas One and All, will bring in much-needed funds for the Amelia-Mae Foundation and Breast Cancer Genetics.

The song shines a spotlight on important social issues such as loneliness, addiction and homelessness – while also striking an optimistic note that hope and love will save the day.

Forty-two-year-old Danny, who has been working in the music industry since he was 16, said: “I’ve always wanted to write a Christmas song but never really tried as there are so many classic Christmas tracks that it felt a bit daunting.

“I wrote the song on Christmas Day last year after the kids had opened their presents.

“I sat in bed with my guitar and a coffee and it just came out – music, melody, lyrics, the whole song.

“I recorded it into voice memos on my phone and then completely forgot about it until November.

“I then recorded it in my home studio and set about looking for charities to team up with to try to do some good and generate some money for them.

“I teamed up with Breast Cancer Genetics and the Amelia-Mae Foundation – two brilliant charities that do so much good.”

The song is now available to pre-order on the iTunes Store via www.apple.co/3qhzmUG.

It will be officially released on December 18 and will be available on all digital platforms.

Danny added: “Every penny of the proceeds of the song will go equally to the two charities and I would like to ask Derbyshire Times’ readers to please go and buy the song.

“Every single bought will help to fund the amazing work the charities do.

“Thank you – and have a very happy Christmas.”

The Amelia-Mae Foundation supports those affected by neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer.

Breast Cancer Genetics runs a helpline to help people affected by hereditary breast cancer.
