Avant Homes has been given the green light to build a mix of two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes in Creswell.

The new £18m development will form the next phase of the housebuilder’s Portlands site, on Skinner Street, which is now fully sold.

Avant Homes Central managing director Stuart Rowlands said: “We’re pleased that we’ll soon be delivering the next phase of our Portlands development. We’ve made a substantial long-term investment in Creswell and we’re continuing that by more than doubling our presence in the village.

“Since launching in 2018, Portlands has proved a real hit with a range of buyers in Creswell. We’ve seen first-hand that there is a demand for quality, affordable design-led homes in the local area and we’re pleased to be continuing to meet that demand.”

Initial groundworks are now underway after the homes were given planning permission earlier this month.

The marketing suite is expected to open in April and the showhomes will be available to view in July.

The first homes will be ready to move into by autumn 2020 and the overall build is expected to take around two years. Ten per cent of properties on the site have been designated as affordable housing.
