Some have found new uses as cafes, shops and restaurants, but many more either been bulldozed to make way for new homes or converted into private housing or flats.

9. Edward VII, Tibshelf
Developers were given the green light to transform the High Street venue into 12 flats in April 2021. It has been claimed by the Tibshelf Heritage Society that they are going beyond their remit in alterations made to the building. Photo: Submitted
10. Elm Tree Inn, Scarcliffe
The village pub could be converted into a family home after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic made the business ‘no longer viable’. Plans were submitted to Bolsover District Council last month. Planning documents said the venue’s regulars have changed their lifestyles since the lockdowns of the last two years. Photo: Brian Eyre
