Man released by police after questioning over Derbyshire crash which left two women dead

A man arrested over a death crash in Derbyshire yesterday has been released by police after questioning.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a collision in Renishaw in the early hours of yesterday morning but has since been released under investigation.

A blue Vauxhall Corsa and a blue BMW were involved in the collision.

The women, who were travelling in the Corsa, died at the scene of the incident.

They have not yet been identified.

The road between was closed between Renishaw and Eckington until around 3pm while police investigative work was carried out.

Witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles beforehand or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage, should call Derbyshire Police on 101 and quote reference 101 of October 7.
