The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire have helped to plant the first tree for a new woodland on the Chatsworth Estate.

The Woodland Trust is working with the estate and the Forestry Commission to create a 25 hectare Diamond Wood on land adjascent to the A619 near Baslow.

The move is part of the trust’s Jubilee Woods Project and is designed to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
