Police have been forced to close the A61 in Chesterfield while officers remain at the scene of an incident along the busy route – with drivers being warned to avoid the area.
Derbyshire Police have confirmed that the A61 in Chesterfield is currently closed between Hornsbridge and Rother Way. The busy route has been shut in both directions due to an ongoing police incident.
A force spokesperson said: “This includes access from Hollis Lane and Brewery Street. It is likely to be closed for some time."
