Officers came across the individual who was offering to do work on guttering in North Wingfield.

Upon seeing police, the person vacated and advice was issued to the potential victim.

“Please be aware that some cold callers offer their services for initially a reasonable price but prices can soon spiral when extra work is added to the final bill,” police said.

They suggested to use reputable workmen and have a pre-planned appointment.
