A 43-year-old man has been charged with assisting an offender following the alleged murder of young father Ricky Collins in Killamarsh.
The charged man - who police have not named - has been remanded into custody after appearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court this morning.
A 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A murder probe was launched this week after Ricky - described as an “amazing daddy” to his son - was found injured near the junction of Westthorpe Road and Upperthorpe Road on Monday night.
The 31-year-old was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital, where he sadly died.
Police are now reissuing an appeal for information over the killing.
As news emerged this week loved ones paid tribute to Ricky - with friend Maria Sheeran posting on Facebook: “Absolutely no words. Sleep tight Ricky.”
She described him as “the most amazing daddy”.
