Man charged over numerous burglaries after allegedly targeting homes and cars in Chesterfield

Police have charged a man who is now remanded into custody over numerous burglaries and thefts in Chesterfield and Dronfield.

Darren Jest, of no fixed address, allegedly targeted homes in Newbold, Brampton, Ashgate, Walton and Dronfield, with car keys and cars taken from outside, between February to June this year.

The 42-year-old, was charged in June with six counts of burglary and one charge of stealing items from a car and remanded into prison custody.

He last appeared at Derby Crown Court for a hearing on Monday, August 9.

The trial is expected to take place in January 2022.
