Drunk Chesterfield musician crashed “straight into a roundabout”, court hears
Jamie Ledger’s VW Golf was seen driving towards police before hitting the junction in Hasland with its front bumper and coming to a stop on August 8.
Chesterfield Magistrates Court heard Ledger, 37, had “one too many drinks” before deciding to drive home.

She told how while approaching Ledger’s car they saw him sitting in the driver’s seat and during a breath test he blew 115 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Ledger’s solicitor Ben Strelley told magistrates earlier in the evening his client had “no intention” of driving that night.
He said “Mr Ledger took full responsibility for his actions”, adding the defendant made an early guilty plea when he was arrested.

The solicitor said session musician and guitar teacher Ledger had no previous convictions and the incident had a “significant impact on him” as this was “the first time he has been arrested”.
Ledger, of Grove Street, Hasland, admitted drink driving.
He was banned from driving for 27 months, fined £700 and made to pay a £70 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
A magistrate told Ledger the reading was “very high” and the collision was an “aggravating factor”.
