Driver mounts pavement and ploughs through a fence in Derbyshire village

A car mounted the pavement and ploughed through a fence in a Derbyshire village.

Police say the incident happened on the A617 in Glapwell on Sunday.

Roadside tests showed that the sdriver had not been drinking, or had been driving under the unfluence of drugs.

But officers said ‘no explanation’ was given for what caused the crash and they have reported the driver.

Police also arrested a driver in Shirebrook on Sunday, after he failed to negotiate a roundabout and drove straight in to a bush and fence.
