'Dirty' Audi suspected of being linked to drug crime is seized by Derbyshire road police
Police in Derbyshire seized a ‘dirty’ Audi that was ‘cleaner on outside than inside’ yesterday after it was initially suspected of being linked to drug crime.
The vehicle was stopped by Derbyshire Road Crime Unit in Chesterfield yesterday (March 23) after officers said they received information linking the Audi to drugs ‘from over the border’ in South Yorkshire.
No illegal substances were found in the car but it was seized after police discovered it had no valid insurance.
In a tweet, officers from the road crime unit said it was ‘cleaner outsider than in’ and thanked Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Team for helping them with the logistics of locating the vehicle.
The force humourously wrote: “Chez Vegas.
“Info linking this, erm, #jimmynail to drugs from over the border in #SYP
“None found this time but personal admin fail..#NoIns so seized S.165a #cleaneroutsidethanin
“Thanks to @ChesterfieldSNT for helping with #logistix (Street innit)”.
