Derbyshire man arrested for assaulting police officer after robbing shop near Chesterfield

A man was taken into custody and charged with three offences – including assaulting a police officer – after a robbery near Chesterfield.

The individual was charged with robbery, damage and assaulting a police officer following an incident at a shop in Wingerworth.

Officers were called to the SPAR shop on Allendale Road just before 10.10pm on Wednesday, June 8 and a man was arrested.

Luke Booker, 31, of Longedge Lane, Wingerworth, was due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court on Friday 10 June.
