Chesterfield motorist caught 'driving without a care in the world' after crashing into fence

A driver in Chesterfield was caught travelling ‘without a care in the world’ after crashing into a fence and damaging their vehicle.

Officers from the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stopped the Peugeot in Barlborough today (March 10) which had significant damage to the bonnet.

In a tweet, the force described the motorist as “driving around without a care in the world after previously failing to see a gate.”

The car which police humorously labelled ‘shed of the week’ has been recovered and prohibited from further movement.

One social media user couldn’t believe the driver carried on with their journey after crashing into the gate, writing: “It looks like someone has attacked the bonnet with a can opener.”

While another person also remarked on the damage to the Peugeot and commented underneath the post from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit: “Ah yea, no one will notice that, that'll definitely scuff out won't it?!”.
