Chesterfield man arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Matlock following police search

Officers were called to Matlock yesterday (March 1) following a report of a shoplifter in the town centre.

Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Police Team arrived at the scene and conducted a search where they later identified a 32-year-old man from Chesterfield and arrested him on suspicion of shoplifting.

He remains in police custody.

On Twitter, Emma Karagkevrekis said: “That’s a long way to travel even for a bit of shoplifting.”
