Cannabis filled laundry bags found inside 'suspicious' Derbyshire car

Laundry bags filled with cannabis were found inside a ‘suspicious’ Derbyshire vehicle last night, after police searched the car.

Officers stopped the vehicle which they said was ‘suspicious looking’ on The Green in North Wingfield, yesterday (January 27) while they were driving back to Clay Cross.

While the car was being searched, the group of males who had been travelling inside the vehicle then fled from the scene.

Police found three laundry bags filled with cannabis plants in the boot of the car and recovered the drugs.

In a message posted to Facebook, officers from Clay Cross Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Say goodbye to your vehicle chaps, off to the compound and probably crushed and your cannabis will be destroyed.

"If you would like to discuss this further with our officers, please call 101 to arrange an appointment... somehow I think we will be waiting a while.”

Anyone who has information about the incident should call police on non-emergency contact number 101.
