Appeal after thrown object smashes train window in Chesterfield

British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after an object was thrown at a freight train smashing its window in Chesterfield.

A freight train was passing through Avenue Country Park, in the Hasland area, when an unknown object was thrown at the train at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, April 7.

It is reported that three teenagers were seen in the area at the time of the offence, British Transport Police said.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information relating to the incident.
