Appeal after dog injured on road close to Chesterfield after alleged attack

Police are appealing for information after a dog was injured on a road in Dronfield near Frith Wood, following an alleged attack from another dog.

The incident which involved two dogs reportedly took place at 2pm yesterday (March 2) on Callywhite Lane, close to the woods.

Injury has been caused to one of the dogs according to police, who state the offending pet and owner left the scene after the alleged attack and no details were exchanged between the dog walkers.

Officers said they have received ‘limited details’ of the incident but are keen to identify and speak to a man who is described as between 5ft 9 to 5ft 11, stocky and in his mid to late 20s with short reddish-brown hair.

The dog which could potentially be a mixed breed is described as large and brown in colour.
