90-year-old Derbyshire woman victim of distraction burglary

Police have called on residents living in Dronfield to remain vigilant after a man distracted a 90-year-old woman to get access to her home and attempted to steal from her.

Those living in or around the town are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to officers as soon as possible, following the distraction burglary.

At around 3pm on yesterday (March 24) a man allegedly visited the home of a 90-year-old woman in Dronfield, claiming that he needed to check her upstairs taps.

The woman later realised her bedroom had been searched but it is not yet known at this time if anything was stolen.

He is described as white, aged about 30 and with curly brown hair.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact the force by calling 101 and quoting reference number 21*165004 in any correspondence.
