Chesterfield Royal Hospital issues warning as temporary road closure causes disruption

The closure is in place to allow for ‘essential infrastructure works’.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital has issued a warning to patients and visitors earlier this morning (Monday, October 26).

This is due to a temporary road closure on the hospital site affecting a part of the site road near the Visitors' Entrance.

The closure is in place to allow for ‘essential infrastructure works’ to be carried out.

The Visitors' Entrance will still be accessible for pick-up and drop-off, but vehicles will need to approach via the alternative route around the East and North sides of the hospital site.

All main visitor car parks remain and usual pedestrian routes remain open.

The hospital issued the following online statement: “We're carrying out essential infrastructure works on our hospital site on Monday, 26 October which will require a temporary closure of part of the site road near our Visitors' Entrance.

“Please follow temporary directional signage and allow a little extra time when travelling to appointments or ward visits today.

“Thank you for your understanding while we complete these important works.”
