7. Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern
Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern are a pair of the Peak District’s most remarkable caves. The rare mineral Blue John can only be found inside these two caverns in the Castleton area, and it is well worth taking the Blue John Cavern tour to explore the site and potentially purchase a unique gift made from Blue John. 8. Explore the ‘druids rocks’
The Rowter Rocks at Birchover have caves, rooms, tunnels, steps and even an armchair carved into the stone. Victorian tourists were lead to believe these were the work of an ancient Druid community - but were carved by a local man some 300 years ago.
