I’ve lived in Derbyshire for several years, and in that time, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a number of great places to eat.
I‘ve compiled a list of my favourites below, including everything from Peak District country pubs to high-end culinary experiences – will you be making plans to visit any of these eateries over the coming weeks?

13. The Peacock at Barlow, Hackney Lane, Barlow
This country pub is nestled in Barlow, just a couple of miles outside Chesterfield - and is perfect for anyone looking for somewhere to enjoy a delicious meal. The Peacock focuses on delivering high-quality versions of pub classics - and also offers great views across the surrounding countryside. Photo: Google

14. Pesto at The Peacock, Chesterfield Road, Oakerthorpe
Pesto at The Peacock is perfect for anyone wanting somewhere unique to visit in Derbyshire. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Italian small plates, or ‘piattini’, allowing you to sample a diverse selection of delicious dishes. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every visit to Pesto at The Peacock in the past - and I would certainly recommend it to anyone searching for a new restaurant to try. Photo: Google

15. Lombardi's Ristorante Italiano, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield
Lombardi’s is another amazing Italian eatery in Chesterfield - with this family-run restaurant keeping residents well-fed and satisfied since it opened back in 2002. A warm welcome is guaranteed and I’ve always loved everything I’ve tried here on each visit - and I can wholeheartedly recommend Lombardi’s if you’re in Chesterfield and haven’t visited already. 16. Market Pub, New Square, Chesterfield
If you find yourself in Chesterfield and are searching for top-quality pub food, then The Market needs to be at the very top of your list. Ideally located in the town centre, The Market offers something for everyone - from a range of pub favourites to a selection of more unique dishes. Photo: Google
