I’ve lived in Derbyshire for several years, and in that time, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a number of great places to eat.
I‘ve compiled a list of my favourites below, including everything from Peak District country pubs to high-end culinary experiences – will you be making plans to visit any of these eateries over the coming weeks?

1. The Blue Stoops, High Street, Dronfield and The Hunloke Arms, Derby Road, Wingerworth
The Hunloke Arms seems to continually grow in popularity, with the pub serving up food that always looks great and tastes incredible too. Whether you’re looking for pub classics like burgers and steaks, or you fancy something slightly more inventive, the Hunloke Arms has you covered - and the wide variety of drinks makes it perfect for anyone looking to make an evening of their visit. The Blue Stoops is run by the same company and you can certainly tell - with The Blue Stoops adopting that same focus on great quality pub food. If you find yourself in the Dronfield area, The Blue Stoops is definitely one of the best places to visit for a delicious meal. Photo: Brian Eyre

2. The George, Castleton
There are plenty of great pubs to visit in Castleton if you find yourself in the village after a walk, or you’re looking for somewhere to stop after exploring one of the area’s popular show caverns. The George is my favourite - with a large beer garden that offers plenty of room to enjoy a drink and something to eat after a Peak District excursion. The pub offers everything from traditional pub food to stone baked pizzas - making it perfect for anyone visiting one of the Peak District’s most scenic villages. Photo: Brian Eyre

3. Sicily Restaurant, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield
Chesterfield has no shortage of great Italian restaurants, and Sicily is up there as one of the best. If you want to sample a range of Italian and Sicilian dishes in an intimate setting, with incredibly friendly staff who do their utmost to make you feel welcome, then Sicily Restaurant is a must-visit this summer. 4. The Pilsley Inn, Pilsley
The Pilsley Inn is nestled in the village of Pilsley - which sits on the Chatsworth Estate and is just a few minutes away from Baslow. This traditional country inn offers a range of high-quality pub favourites, sourcing produce and ingredients from across the Peak District - and it is perfect to visit over the coming weeks and months.
