The latest Derbyshire infection rates as vaccinations begin today

In Chesterfield the infection rate has risen in the most recent week on record. In the seven days to December 3 it was 136.3 per 100,000 people. This means there were 143 new cases confirmed in that week.
In the week to November 26 the infection rate was 123.0, reflecting 129 confirmed new cases.

Elsewhere in north Derbyshire, the infection rate fell.
In the High Peak it fell from 109.0 (101 new cases) in the week to November 26 to 84.2 (78 new cases) in the week to December 3.
In Bolsover over the same period the infection rate fell from 228.6 (293 new cases) to 155.3 (199 new cases).
And in North East Derbyshire it fell from 175.4 (178 new cases) to 104.5 (106 new cases).

Hide AdThe Derbyshire Dales has the lowest infection rate of the local authorities in the area, with 74.7 per 100,000 people (54 new cases). The week before it was 113.4 (82 new cases).
And in the Amber Valley the rate is 155.3 (199 new cases), down from 228.6 (293 new cases).
Chesterfield Royal Hospital has been chosen as one of the 53 vaccination hubs, and will store and distribute the Pfizer vaccine to other trusts in North Derbyshire and the surrounding area.
