Coronavirus: One person has died in Derbyshire after testing positive for COVID-19

One person in Derbyshire has died after testing positive for coronavirus, NHS England confirmed today (March 29).

This is the first reported death related to COVID-19 in Derbyshire, which, according to the latest figures released yesterday, had 194 confirmed cases of the disease.

This comes as it was announced that a further 190 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) across the country have died since yesterday, bringing the total number in England to 1,125.

Patients were aged between 39 and 105 years old and all but 4 patients (aged between 57 and 87 years old) had underlying health conditions.

The Department of Health says a further 209 people have died in the UK after testing positive for COVID-19.

The figure for the UK now stands at 1,228.

The UK currently remains in lockdown, with Michael Gove offering no timescale for when this will end in his interview this morning.
