Police praise North Derbyshire primary school students for posters shining a light on impact of anti-social behaviour

Dronfield Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) praised students at Northfield Junior School on Falcon Road for their “fantastic” drawings and posters which highlighted how anti-social behaviour affects the wider community.

It comes as Derbyshire police have taken part in Anti-Social Behviour Awareness Week, with additional patrols across areas of the county to tackle concerns raised by residents.

Officers in Dronfield earlier this week, identified new graffiti that had been found in Snapehill along with electric scooters that they feared were being used anti-socially in the area which they say will be investigated.

In a post on Facebook, Dronfield Police SNT wrote: “Dronfield SNT would like to thank pupils of Northfield Junior School who have get involved with Anti social Behaviour week with some fantastic poster and drawings about ASB and how it affects the community, GREAT WORK !!! #asbawareness #asbhub #CommunitySafety #communityengagment #communitysafetypartnership #OpDerbyshire”.

The safer neighbourhood team also shared pictures of the colourful drawings created by the pupils and annotated pictures of public places that can be used anti-socially such as bus stops and parks.

Derbyshire Constabulary shared the Facebook post, adding: “Throughout this week, our officers have been holding various events to engage with the public across Derbyshire, performing a series of vehicle checks on our roads to tackle unsafe and nuisance vehicles, along with dropping in to local schools to discuss the impact that anti-social behaviour can have on our communities.

“Here is some of the fantastic artwork created by Northfield Junior School, getting involved with #ASBawarenessweek.”
