North East Derbyshire District Council has partnered with Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd to deliver free energy efficiency upgrades to eligible households across the district, helping residents enjoy warmer, healthier homes while reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.

Funded by the UK Government as part of the national Warm Homes: Local Grant initiative, the scheme offers fully funded improvements such as insulation, solar panels, and battery storage to homeowners and private landlords who meet the eligibility criteria.

Residents can now check their eligibility and apply online via the newly launched website: www.warmhomes-nederbyshire.co.uk.

The scheme is designed to:

  • Reduce energy usage and lower bills
  • Improve comfort and indoor air quality
  • Lower carbon footprints
  • Future-proof homes with higher EPC ratings
  • Increase property value

North East Derbyshire District Council Leader, Cllr Nigel Barker, Portfolio Holder for Housing said, “We’re proud to be helping our residents with practical solutions that make a real difference to household budgets and the environment,”. We as a council are committed to helping our residents access initiatives which can greatly benefit them and their families and reduce their energy bill costs and I’d urge you to check your eligibility and apply”.

Sustainable Building Services regional director Daniel Owens said: “Being appointed to deliver these energy efficiency upgrades is especially rewarding given our existing long-standing relationship with North-East Derbyshire District Council.

We already understand the local housing stock and community and have built foundations that will ensure trustworthy and efficient delivery. It is a fantastic opportunity to build on everything we have achieved here over the past decade, and this scheme enables us to make a real difference to people’s homes, health and energy bills.”
