Jessica Messenger founder of Villain Aesthetics was surprised to learn last weekend that an event she forgot was happening had awarded her the National Rising Star Award in the Hair & Beauty Industries. Hosted by TV regular Jake Quickenden, who prefaced the award win as an “exceptional talent and potential, showing remarkable growth, passion and dedication.”

The event, held at the ICC in Birmingham, spotlighted hundreds of businesses from across the country in the hair and beauty industries. With each category hosting 50 finalists from various regions. Jessica beat thousands of entrants and 50 finalists in order to be crowned the 2024 Rising Star. Villain Aesthetics is just 16 months old and in that short time has gone on to win multiple awards for their unique services in the region, but at the beginning of 2024, Jessica made the decision to stop attending awards in person as they come at quite an expense to any business owner.

Jessica said, “I was completely dumbfounded that I had actually won it. I had forgotten the awards were on as the finalist titles were announced so long ago. I only found out because another local business had seen the event and realised it was me!”

The event was a lavish affair, with celebrity attendance, performances from the likes of Aston Merrigold (JLS ) and opportunities for photos and networking. It was TV Host Jake Quickendens second time hosting after his great reception at last years event. With over 20 categories, across a broad range of sectors within the industries, the event keeps getting bigger year on year and was live streamed this year in order to provide opportunities to those who couldn’t make the event in person.
