Hide AdDeveloper Milligan is working with landowner Birchall Properties and organisations including Chesterfield Borough Council and the Peak District National Park Authority on the proposed hub, which would be called the Gateway at PEAK.
Melanie Taylor, head of retail relations at Milligan, said the project would help visitors to ‘sustainably explore’ the area.
She added: “A gateway could provide information for visitors to book single or multi-day itineraries, explore the area using more sustainable, less polluting modes of transport and buy or hire outdoor activity equipment to try out new activities.”

Construction on the hub could start next year.

Last year, council chiefs approved a planning application to build an indoor adventure centre called Adrenaline World at the site of Peak.
Adrenaline World - which is the brainchild of leisure entrepreneur and former professional English tennis player, David Lloyd - promises to offer a variety of activities including a ninja course, zip lines, climbing walls, rope courses, adventure golf, caving, trampolining and e-karts.
It is planned to open next spring.
