Developers have submitted proposals to Chesterfield Borough Council for the site on Heaton Street in Brampton.

The applicant, listed as James Mills Kitchens and Bathrooms, said in planning documents: "We will provide ice cream, hot and cold drinks and a selection of cakes. We will not be providing any hot food.

"We envisage most of our trade to be takeaway, but we would also like to provide a seating area within the parlour.

"Our trade will be mainly on foot and we will not be providing any off-road parking. We are already ideally located on a corner plot in a busy street in Brampton."

Documents say the shop was formerly a grocers before it became a hair salon in the 1970s.

"We understand litter will need to be managed so we plan on providing bins inside and outside which will be emptied daily,” the applicant adds.

It is expected the business will be open from 9am-6pm so any potential noise will be within daylight hours.

A ‘small extension’ will be required to a utility room connected to the shop, before this area is converted into a toilet for staff and customers.

The applicant says the overall appearance of the buiding will ‘hardly change’.

The plans will be decided upon by planning chiefs at the borough council over coming weeks.
