Chesterfield business told it can't reopen tomorrow as brakes are put on lockdown easing plans

Chesterfield Bowl, on Storforth Lane, was due to open its doors to customers for the first time in five months on Saturday, August 1.

Staff have spent the summer making the venue as safe as possible, and earlier this week said they ‘could not wait to welcome’ people.

However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to delay further easing of restrictions, wich were due to take place tomorrow, means this will now have to be put on hold again.

A spokesperson said: “It’s a disappointing setback, we’ve worked hard to get our centre covid secure.

"It’s an understandable decision though, to keep you all safe, but we hope it won’t be long before we can open our doors again and welcome you all back.”
