The Peak District is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parts of the country – and there is a wide variety of stellar pubs for those making the trip to England’s first national park.
CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2022, which lists thousands of the UK’s best pubs, includes a number of the Peak District’s country inns – and these are 10 of the venues recommended by the experts at CAMRA.
9. Royal British Legion Club, Parwich
The guide says: “Sitting in the heart of the village, not far from the village pub, this welcoming club is open to all visitors. At least three real ales are usually available, one tapped direct from the cellar room, from local breweries such as Dancing Duck, Wincle or Howard Town. Local branch club of the year 2022 and Derbyshire club of the year.” Photo: Google
10. Three Stags’ Heads, Wardlow
The guide says: “A quaint 300-year-old pub with two small rooms, stone flagged floors and low ceilings. Unspoilt, it is one of the few pubs in the area identified by CAMRA as having a nationally important historic pub interior. An ancient range warms the bar and the house dogs, one of which gave the name to the house beer – Black Lurcher. Traditional cider is only available in summer.” Photo: Google
