Autumn play season brings live theatre back to Chesterfield's Pomegranate

Live theatre returns for the first time since lockdown in an autumn season of plays at Chesterfield Pomegranate Theatre.

The season features actors well known to Pomegranate audiences and will comprise a comedy and thriller presented by Tabs Productions and a comedy from Rumpus Theatre Company.Karen Henson, founder of Tabs, said: “Each play is a two-hander with a local actor couple as the cast, to overcome the social-distancing restrictions in performance. We can’t wait to be back at the Pomegranate again, it’s been seven long months.”Karen and her husband John Goodrum, who is founder of Rumpus Theatre Company, will flex their skills as actors in a comedy of modern relationships entitled The Live Bed Show. Directed by Sarah Wynne Kordas for Tabs Productions, The Live Bed Show, by Arthur Smith, will be staged from November 10 to 14.George Telfer and his wife Susie Hawthorne star in a thriller, Dead Certain, which revolves around a struggling actor and a scriptwriter secluded in a house where events take a sinister turn. Dead Certain, penned by Marcus Llloyd, will be directed by Karen Henson and will run from October 27 to 31.The season will launch with Love Upon The Throne, a comedy by Patrick Barlow, retelling the romance, courtship and matrimony of Charles and Diana. The play stars Susan Earnshaw and David Gilbrook, will be directed by John Goodrum and will be at the Pomegranate Theatre from October 13 to 17.
